Glia cells come in different shapes and sizes since there are different types of glia, like astrocytes, microglia, and oligodendrocytes (among others). Even a single type of glia can vary drastically, considering that they usually adapt to the needs of the neighbor cells (especially neurons). It is only a matter of time to find glia shaped as known figures or characters (sometimes with more or less imagination). Since time in the microscope is a thing that we usually have in a great amount while working in the laboratory, we have already created a glia-shaped-in-interesting-ways album of photos. Today, we wish you a happy Halloween with this spooky skull-glia we found.
